    Oscar is a *****.

This is worse than Cotto Vs Gomez, but sometimes people need a chance at glory!

who cares, theres nothing wrong with this fight. Its not like he has a title, and tuneups against guys just to put on a show for fans is a good thing.

however, he could fight a fighter thats more likely to put on a good show...Forbes has the ability to make it boring.

Gomez is just a stepping stone for Cotto though. Gomez vs. Cotto is not that bad. Oscar is gonna RETIRE after fighting Mayweather again. That is weak.

Whatever happened to fighting young and hungry fighters that are too inexperienced to pose a threat for a tuneup? I prefer that over fighting washed up fighters too degraded to pose a threat.

Oscar was in a no win situation in this fight.

Its HBO, so there isnt enough money to lure a bigger name and that's also the reason why it's on HBO - because they dont want a bigger name.

There was no way anyone was going to risk ruining the rematch between Mayweather and De La Hoya in September by putting De La Hoya in too tough in May.

Oscar knew that going a year without fighting did not give him the best chance of winning the rematch with Floyd. So he wanted to get some work in so voila ... they put it on HBO, get a former world titlist, who is moving up in weight.

I don't think this fight is as much as mismatch as some think. This isn't a shootout - but its also not a shutout.

I don't think this fight was ever in danger of not being done.
