So I assume that everyone is joking about Mora winning, but if any of you aren't, I am willing to put any amount of points on Vernon Forrest in this one.

To defend that record against a former Fighter of the Year who beat former world champs Piccirillo and Baldomir in his last 2 fights is difficult to do. If anything, Forrest has been fighting at a much higher level and performing more consistently.

Originally posted by Asian Sensation View PostMy apologies, I hadn't realized he fought since his draw with Elvin Ayala. When it comes to made to order competition, look at Mora's ledger. After the Contender, he was dropped by Archak, then beat Eric Regan, drew with Ayala, and beat some Ruvalcaba guy coming off a first round KO to Jose Luis Zertuche.

Forrest was the FOY over five years ago in 2002. If you discount the very dubious Quartey win, he hasn't beaten anyone of note since Mosley. While I can't quite pick Mora to win at 154, I'll stand by this being a tough fight for VF.

By the way, does anyone have a link to the ESPN article or does anyone know the date of the fight?
