  • So Cotto never called Mayweather out?

A couple of days i posted a thread in which I claimed that Mayweather was ducking Cotto while Cotto was calling him out, many of you decided to be smartasses telling me that never happened. This is an article from *********.com:

Miguel Cotto doesn't normally call out opponents, but the unbeaten WBA welterweight champion issued a direct challenge to WBC titleholder Floyd Mayweather earlier this week. "I have no problem facing the other champions from the same division," stated Cotto, "but they want to remain as champions. I am open to facing any opponent. When [Mayweather] wants and decides to fight, he knows that Miguel Cotto is here....stop making excuses."

Mayweather doesn't have to fight Cotto if he doesn't want to. That's not why PBF has many fans, he has may fans because we like him, he is indeed the best and such a smart character. Cotto is a young good champion and imo it would be a unecessary risk for Mayweather to take a young Cotto when he's already 31, the age where most welterweights get out of their primes. Remember Mayweather's natural weight is/was 130, not 147, but he did get titles all the way to 154. Isn't that a wow? Cotto has to do much more to be in that level besides punching nuts. Oh and btw i do think Mayweather would get another win vs Cotto but his business side will probably keep him from trying that. WWE and Oscar for 40-0 then retire. In a couple years we will know the truth about Cotto. I think Mayweather already know the Cotto story but want no part of it.

It's funny how when asked if he will fight Cotto or Williams (IMO) back after the Hatton fight he said hed rather take a 2 year break from the sport but ask him if he would fight a 36 year old Oscar which he already beat he doesnt have to think about it twice. If your talking about being better than both Sugar Ray at least take the challenge to prove yourself, what in the hell do you prove by beating an old fighter which you already fought?

It's not that. It's just he has to call him out like Hatton did. After the Mosley fight he should have said Floyd is scared. Or some **** like that. I know it's not his style but it would be the most efffective way of getting the fight.
