    Hatton's lawyer posts on forum.

Evidently fed up with the new wave of calls for the Witter fight, Hatton's lawyer Gareth Williams took matters into his own hands (or fingers as the case may be) and addressed a thread demanding the Witter fight happen sooner than later.

Quoted from Ricky Hatton official forum.

I have read the comments with interest.
I spoke to a journalist this morning simply to respond to the suggestion that the fight in May was dependent on TV money from America, which is a nonsense.
When we first started to discuss this fight, Witter announced he would be fighting Hopkins and good look to him.
Now that it looks like that fight has fallen through he once again talks about fighting Ricky!
I don't choose or discuss opponents for Ricky, that is left to people who know far more about boxing that me.
It is ridiculous to suggest this fight is only about money, if that was the case Ricky would be fighting in America where he would earn significantly more money.
Team Hatton do have a plan which, as much as I would like to, I can not share on this forum until contracts are signed.
Team Hatton believe the show in Manchester will be a big success, if we are wrong, then only time will tell.
The only reason Witter wants to fight Ricky is because his team think it will represent his biggest ever pay day and it will give him great exposure both here and in the USA.
I don't blame him for wanting to fight Ricky, if I represented him I would be doing everything I could to make the fight.
In the summer Ricky told us he wanted to fight Mayweather, so me and his Dad got on a plane flew to America and made a deal. If we had not been able to make a deal then we would of looked at plan B, we would not of moaned on the internet that life was unfair!
The harsh realities of life is that boxing, like all professional sport is a business!
The name that have been mentioned as future opponents is not arrogance on my part, it was simply pointing out to a journalist the options that Ricky has.
I have posted on here before and again hope this helps, if it doesn't then please tell me and I will keep my thoughts to myself!
I would point out that I do think Gibbo does a good job and doesn't deserve all the stick he gets.
He gets no reward, save I managed to blag him into the dressing room in December!

How many boxers do you see or know who fights back with a Lawyer...More lame excuse me think, either fight Witter or STFU.

          Yep I beginning to agree.

If David Haye can take on Enzo - when he clearly would rather move up to HW, then why can't Hatton face off against Mayweather? It can't be about money, Hatton must have enough by now... surely it's all about proving you are the best isn't it?

Slagging opponents off in the press or on the internet does not make a fight.
Most normal people would arrange a meeting and sit down to discuss terms.
I have made this clear to Witter's promoter, it is clear we have a difference of opinion as to what he should be paid.
I have made it perfectly clear that I respect Witter as a fighter and wish him all the best with his career.
I was with Malignaggi, his lawyer and promoter last weekend and they were nothing but complimentary towards Ricky.
They made it quite clear to me as to which British Light Welterweight they wanted to fight.
His point about Witter shouting about the Hatton fight after the Hopkins fight was put in jeoprady holds some weight.

I agree, I dont even mind Hatton fighting a tune up next before facing Witter later in the year but i just hate all this lame excuse and reasons for not wanting the fight...Its all good saying you can picked up on lightweights like Juan diaz or Pacman but what about actually fighting the top guys in your own division?? People like Witter or Paulie represents that, The Witter/Hatton fight would sold wembley out which would make Hatton more money than he would make fighting in america unless its Mayweather again or oscar.

Possibly, although I know a guy with Dyslexia who's almost finished law school.

So??? If Witter isnt fighting in March that means he still can come in on the May 24 date.

Don't get me wrong I think the Hatton Witter fight should have happened long ago. And should happen asap.
