Junior Witter jets off for warm-weather training on Monday still oblivious about who he is preparing to fight.
Witter is gearing up for his American date in California next month - but an opponent has still not been confirmed.
Bradford's world champion was expected to defend his WBC light-welterweight belt against Demetrius Hopkins but the American has failed to sign the contract amid rumours of a split in his camp.
TV network giants HBO are confident of pressing ahead with the March 22 show and have back-up names in place.
Witter, ready for a week of intense work under the Gran Canarian sun, just wishes he could be told what is going on.
"Mick (Hennessy, Witter's promoter) has told me it's definitely going to happen and the show will come good," he said.
"But it would be nice to find out who I'm fighting. I don't particularly analyse opponents as such but I like to have a picture of them in my mind and have an idea of their style.
"Hopkins is my preferred victim and they've made him an improved offer but the other guys are tied up just in case.
"Obviously my training revolves around the type of opponent I'm up against. I know I can beat any of them but it would be helpful if I knew whether it was someone who was 6ft 2in or a 4ft midget!
"I hope it's Hopkins but I wonder if he's using this fall-out as an excuse. He keeps talking about getting his opportunity at a world title and there's no better one than this for a genuine world belt."
this is crazy, the fight is 4 weeks away and he dont know his opponent
