Is Hopkins the oldest person to hold such a high P4P ranking? Anyone?

I know Foreman won the belt when he was an old man but I don't think he was ranked very high on the P4P. -

^^Not sure he was. His record wasn't quite as good, but possibly good enough to crack top ten (not sure if he had any title fights after 40 though).
Here are some stats I found from ESPN:
boxer/fights after 40/record/title fights
Archie Moore/50/44-4-2/10-2
Ray Robinson/44/30-10-3-0*/0-0
Jack Johnson/28/19-7-1*/0-0
Roberto Duran/25/18-7-0/0-1
Larry Holmes/24/21-3-0/0-2
George Foreman/20/17-3-0/2-1
Bob Fitzsimmons/11/3-3-0**/1-1
Willie Pep/10/9-1-0/0-0
Max Schmeling/5/3-2-0/0-0
Bernard Hopkins/5/3-2/3-2
Based on this list alone and considering Title fights (which is important I think to be ranked p4p), the only guys I could see being top 10 p4p after 40 are Archie Moore, George Foreman and Bernard Hopkins.
Well, then I'd imagine he was ranked top 10, for sure. His record over 40 was great (44-4-2, with 12 title fights, winning 10 of those).Last edited by ИATAS; 02-21-2008, 02:13 PM.Comment

So B-Hop being ranked so high right now is a feat in itself.. Although i doubt he could beat many elite out there right now.. We'll see soon enough though.Comment
