Thats odd because he weighs more now than he did earlier in his career. He looked more built in the Sanders fight than he did for Lewis or Johnson.

Of course he does, anybody at HW has one punch KO power. He is just more intelligent now and he is fighting better competition, so one punch KOs won't come as frequently. He broke down Sanders methodically which is what I predict will happen with Williams. Vitali is a big puncher but he also tends to arm-punch.He probably would have more one punch KOs if he stepped into his punches more. But like I said he fights intelligently for a man his size and doesn't just throw huge shots all the time.

He actually weighed 1 pound heavier against Ed Mahone than he did against Sanders, but it looks more like 10 pounds. For some reason I don't trust those European scales.

He never was a one punch guy but of course any top HW should be able to knock out the likes of Ed Mahone . . . . . .

i agree and very few ex thai fighters are one punch merchants, Nige Benn is the only one I vcan think of who actually had real one punch KO pwoer. Ex Thai boxers tend to throw arm punches but hey when you are 6 ft 7 thats till gonna hurt.

He is more of a volume puncher.

Was Khaosai Galaxy a Muay Thai competitor ?
He's one of the best puncers in the history of the lower weight classes.

Vitalis one-punch KO-power is much overrated. I have seen all of his fights, and in most of his fights his opponent was stopped on his feet. I canīt think of a fight were he floored a guy with a decent chin. He landed a lot of shots flush on the chins of Sanders, Lewis, Donald, Bean, Byrd, Sullivan, Puritty, Hoffmann, Ryan. None of them went down (Donald was exhausted before he chose to go down, but he took the bombs in the earlier rounds well).

Vitali can hurt anybody of course, but he isnīt explosive enough to floor the top fighters.

DUNNO MATE, to be honest, my next door neighbour is ex Southern area Super middle champ (m.thai) and when training we have discussed this often. He seems to think it comes from the necessity of kicking vs the side on style of boxing that causes the loss on power. Makes sense I suppose, boxing is a lot more square on . What you lose in punch power you gain in being able to stike with your legs quicker. Just a theory of course but seems pretty valid. I dont follow too much kick boxing I must admit, the odd bit here and there but not in any detail.
