I like Mike Perez (Ismaikel Perez) who defected from Cuba and just made his pro debut in Ireland winning by TKO in 1.

He made it to the finals of the 2007 Cuban National Championships (Lost to Osmay Acosta 18-14) and was the 2004 Junior World Champion.

He is a 22 year old Southpaw

I've heard Odlanier Solis is pretty good, he's a heavyweight, currently 6-0 with 4 KO's. He's had wins over Jeremy Bates and Julius Long already.

heavyweight division makes little progress with that ****'ead chagaev fighting skelton and trying to line up a fight with krasniqi.

tony thompson deserves and has earned that shot, he would give chagaev a very tough fight and i for one would pick him to win...

no the heavyweight division doesent NEED an american champ, but it certainly wouldnt hurt, especially since tony thompson would travel to defend it.

HW is VERY strong. The fighters have never been this big and strong. Plus Wlad has both and can box.

the heavyweight badly needs an american champion, the division is being dominated by eastern europians and what the heck might as well create another season of contender then bring in some heavyweights

What's wrong with that? Brings more fans to our sport when their country has a champion.

Will Wlad has already KO'd all the top U.S. guys. And Tony Thompson would only last maby 7-8 rounds.
