awesome round 1, brutal fight
Hearns vs. Roldan... WAR!!
Collapse
-
Roldan was a tough, strong fighter, he was the only on to knock down Marvin Hagler though the KD wasn't much.
No one had quite KO'd Roldan like that, not even Hagler. Just tells you how powerful Hearns was even at higher weights.
People think you can beat Hearns easily if you make him brawl, this fight proves that 'theory' wrong. Sure, Hearns had a suspect chin but he could also KO you with one punch.
Roldan KO's Frank Fletcher
Hearns KO's James Shuler
These two could punch. Both have nearly 50 KO's.Last edited by TheGreatA; 02-20-2008, 05:43 AM. -
i love hearns, im from the detroit area so i have a soft spot for both tommy and joe louis.. even if i didnt live here hed still be my favorite fighter to watch. his vulnerability made every moment exciting. his jab could touch a guy from halfway across the ring, the right hand straight as an arrow, and the left hook to the body was just vicious.Comment

I've always said if Hearns had the chin and the stamina, he'd be remembered as the best of the Fabulous Four.i love hearns, im from the detroit area so i have a soft spot for both tommy and joe louis.. even if i didnt live here hed still be my favorite fighter to watch. his vulnerability made every moment exciting. his jab could touch a guy from halfway across the ring, the right hand straight as an arrow, and the left hook to the body was just vicious.Comment

if fights were 12 rounds back in the day, he very well may have two victories over SRL on his resume... thats assuming he woulda gotten the benefit of the doubt leonard got the second time around.
he never woulda beaten hagler, but he wasnt a true middleweight either.
then again nobody in the history of boxing would have done in duran the way tommy did
the fabulous four are proof positive that styles make fightsComment

I agree, he'd be remembered more fondly if he had beaten Leonard.if fights were 12 rounds back in the day, he very well may have two victories over SRL on his resume... thats assuming he woulda gotten the benefit of the doubt leonard got the second time around.
