A Picture of Manny from training weighing 140lbs

He still looks solid...sorry for small pic...

Freddy Roach said they are training completely for the knockout and Manny wants this knockout more than any he's had. Considering the weight issue, I'm not sure if I could believe it, but he's killing himself in the gym right now. Expect a great fight!

Edit-Oh damn! It was suppose to be a small pic, wtf happened? It was like 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. Uuuuh

He doesn't really have to lose the last 10lbs. He can maintain himself at 140ish and just start to dehydrate himself 12-18 hours before weight-in. Almost all fighters wrestlers do this to some extent.

Hell Quintana's fight weight was about 158lbs for the Williams fight. That was probably his weight before he dehydrated to make weight. Hatton's fight weight for his jrWW fight against Kostya Tzu was 150lbs IIRC.

Well that's not good either. Manny's first 2 KO losses came from dehydrating himself badly to make the weight. I don't like the idea of dehydrating yourself over 5lbs worth at all. That's an accident or KO loss waiting to happen. Not healthy at all.

5lbs is a very low allowance. From personal experiences and those of friends and team mates those 8-10lbs which is about 7% of his total body weight. Its tougher when you get into the 10-12% which is tough and leaves you in not too great a shape especially your stamina and explosiveness. But in general 7% isn't bad especially now and days where boxers have 24hours to rehydrate and they also have doctors who can give them IV's so that they can properly rehydrate.

I think Manny vs Hatton at 140 will be more competitive than people think.
