So Cotto gets credit for this fight in your eyes because it was his 23rd fight?

don't bull**** yourself.. your not fooling any of us.
De La Hoya once was a great champion.. Do to his inactivity and loss of interest in boxing he isn't anything what he used to be.
The De La Hoya of now isn't the one of then. He is 2-2 in his last 4 fights.. and that's if you count Sturm as a win.
If not 1-3.. He is washed up. Beating Oscar now isn't as great as an accomplishment as it used to be.

Lemme guess if Wlad were to fight Muhammed Ali now and kick his ass you would praise him for beating the greatest ever? c'mon

Dont bull**** yourself now, Oscar still beats every welterweight not named Floyd Mayweather and maybe Shane Mosely because of his style. Oscars chin, power, and smarts are still too much for everybody in that divison. Cotto has almost been knocked out by Ricardo Torres at 140, what do you think would happen if a legitimate ko artist whos fought at 160 hits him? And to say hes "old" isnt a good excuse either, because in his last outing he lost a close split decision to the best P4P fighter in the world.

They both get credit, my point is, imagine if Cotto was fighting Chop Chop in his next fight... Just remember that at this point in PBFs career he fought Chop Chop then Bruseles..

you still didn't adress the fact that COTTO IS FIGHTING 4 OR 5 TIMES THIS YEAR AND HE ISN'T GONNA TAKE MAJOR FIGHTS FOR ALL OF THEM.. THAT WOULD BE RECKLESS!

Look. You probably will always try to discredit fighters like Mitchell & Floyd but speaking of Mitchell. How many guys do you know are able to win over 55 pro fights & earn a world title in their career? Certainly not Gomez. Floyd has more fights than Cotto, has more wins, has fought in more weight divisions, & makes more money when he fights. So maybe Cotto needs to fight 4 times a year while Floyd doesnt.

Mayweather already decisively beat DLH once, DLH has had a very good career but this discussion is not about their careers. At this point in time, a win over a Cintron or a Margarito would mean more than a win over an inactive, past his prime DLH. Cotto already beat Quintana, Williams just lost to Quintana so what's your point?

wow.. your a dumb motha.. you forget that Mayweather had a 6 year head start to Cotto and that Cotto has only been fighting since about 2000 so of course he will have more fights you douche! Haterfree.. haha calling me a hater when your one yourself!

AGAIN, COTTO IS ONLY FIGHTING GOMEZ AS A TUNE UP AS HE WANTS TO FIGHT 4 OR 5 TIMES THIS YEAR.. THAT'S ADMIRABLE IN MY EYES THAT A FIGHTER WOULD WANT TO FIGHT SO MANY TIMES IN ONE YEAR IN THIS DAY AND AGE.

Yup, he does beat almost every welterweight you know why? Because he is now a fat and old middlweight who can't compete in his own division.

                      you just yourself.

He couldn't even beat floyd who is much smaller.
