Denis Boytsov vs. Robert Hawkins on Apr 5

The young Russian heavyweight, Denis Boytsov (20-0, BoxRec #107 heavyweight) will be facing veteran Robert Hawkins (23-10, BoxRec #42 heavyweight) on April 5 in Germany.

Hawkins won a clear victory over Dominic Guinn in his last fight, and defeated Terry Smith last year as well. He went the distance with Sam Peter a couple of years ago.

Hawkins is a durable journeyman who only loses to good fighters like Tua and Virchis. He seems like the perfect opponent for Denis at this point in his career.

While not a very impressive opponent, it's clearly an improvement, hope Boytsov handles him well.

Boytsov is still pretty young and green at this point, but I like what I see so far. He's a little small for a HW these days, but that doesn't mean he can't excel in about 4 or 5 years.

He added some muscles on him and healed his back, which was a major problem up to this point. I think he'll do good, he really needs to get better opponents.

Hawkins is a very good opponent for Boytsov at this point.

He's ranked in top 50 of both IBO and BoxRec after his wins over Dominic Guinn and Terry Smith. He's fought very good opposition, such as Maskaev, Tua, Virchis, Peter, Chambers, and Johnson - he has some losses, but usually only to good opponents.

if boytsov can stop hawkins it would be impressive

how many rounds will this fight be?

if its 10 rnds hawkins could tough out the early rounds and take him out late ross purrity style

              It's scheduled for 8 rounds.

Hawkins has only been stopped twice - once by Oleg Maskaev about ten years ago, and last fall by Wladimir Virchis. He's gone the distance with Sam Peter and David Tua.

I like Denis Boytsov a lot. He has good power and quick hands for a heavyweight.

good thing for boytsov its only 8 rounds.... has he ever even fought past 6?

im failiar with hawkins, somehow he is always on TV, cant stand to watch him fight but i did get a nice payout when he beat Guinn... its hilarious to think that guinn, he who is literally scared ****less of throwing punches, actually beat the crap out of audley harrison two years ago.... man i hope old A-force comes back for at least one more putrid performance

I thought boystov looked much better in his last fight even though it was against a bum, its a bit of a step up hopefully boystov will get a few rounds in then KO him.
