Pavlik looked impressive beating up Lockett. He made that fool take a couple of knees.

Pavlik > Kessler I think Pavlik can hurt Kessler badly.

Im not sure Joe could stand up to Pavlik's power.
And we know Kelly will keep coming no matter what, and Joe doesnt have the power to keep Kelly off him.
Of course he does. We're not talking
about Malignaggi - Cotto here. We're
talking about a guy with 32 KO's who
used to hit like a mule. Kessler couldn't
mount an attack on Calzaghe, neither will
        Pavlik.

bernard got 1 knockdown and calzaghe was straight up lol fed of people saying he got KNOCKED DOWN as if it nearly Ko'd him. just caught him and then bernard didnt hardly do anything impressive after that.

Its not that all this swing has come from pavlik knocking out lockett. It comes from the activity. I am American and one thing about us is that we operate on a what have you done for me lately level. I am a big pavlik fan but i havent forgetten what kessler did to andrade. But kessler loss a lot of his stature with American fans by not fighting miranda. If he would have taken that fight there would have been a common opponent for them. And all pavlik fans would have taken notice if he came in and crushed miranda in more impressive fashion than pavlik did. As of right now you could only judge who can win this fight by making comparisons between the two boxers. And the one thing i hate is when people make comparisons without having proof or when its so obvious. Like stating that kessler his stronger than pavlik......yes that is expected he is in a higher weight class he in fact should be stronger than pavlik. But Ill assume that all of you are educated boxing fans and know that there are cases like cotto for instance where moving up seemed to increase their power. Its obvious pavliks frame is meant to support more than 160 lbs so i just want to know what signs do you see or what is it about pavlik that would lead you to beleive that he wouldnt retain his power or have it increase in a move up to 168? or since kelly has been knocked down so many times (2) which is the same number of times calzqaghe has been knocked down, what makes his chin seem so suspect? I try to remain objective its just when someone makes a statement i just like to see some sort of evidence to back it up

LOL, looked good against Lockett, how? Lockett was a bum he was expected to KO early, he didn't exactly hurt him that badly. Too much power for Kessler, ridiculous Kessler has as much if not more power, he's a naturally massive SMW, whom could easily rise to LHW. Pavliks a lanky MW. It should be mandatory noting how many fights you have seen of the respective boxers in the poll. Clearly subjective otherwise, and before Lockett, lol, Kessler won this poll. Weird.

you bring up a very good point kessler is 6'1 with a 73 inch reach pavlik is 6'3 with a 78 reach. I think this stat would bare heavier on the fight than who is more powerful. The one thing that can be taken from the lockett fight as well as any other pavlik fight is that he knows how to dictate distance. So even if we assume that kessler is stronger he has to work his way in to even deliver that power. so whether Kessler decides to come forward or try to counter he will have to exhibit some serious head movement along with some foot speed. And what i do know about kessler which was obvious and both the calzaghe right and the andrade fight is that he is a stand straight up style fight and exhibits very little head movement. and ill admit i havent seen many kessler fights but has he fought anyone who had a height and reach advantage over him? and was a volume puncher? and with decent power?

                      Still Kessler.

It'd be more competitive than the beatdown Calzaghe would give him but then that's just common sense.
