He is a good boxer, but if he does even half of what his father did i would be suprised. He doesn´t have the hand speed or power his father had....i think he should have ko his opponent yesterday much earlier. Still he still has lots to learn and improve, and i think he has the tools to be champion at 154, or at least a top contender.
i dont think he belongs at 154, i think he fights there because he knows hes a step below the up and coming 160 pounders. he couldnt hang with a john duddy, andy lee, joe greene.
as they said during the broadcast he just doesent look strong at that weight, i thought he carried his opponent through the middle rounds after not getting rid of him early. sooner or later he'll have to step up and we'll find out what he is made of.
Isn't he like 29? He has to step up SOON because his clock is ticking indeed. If he even does half of what his ATG father has done he can be proud of himself.

...Yeah, to be considered a prospect at 29 is rediculous. He is not the puncher his Dad was and I don't really see him doing much at all. I would like to see him do well, but somehow I doubt it.
Looks a lot like his father! Reminds me of him a little bit too.
Any thoughts on the kid? Think he will be as good as his daddy?
he isn't gonna be 1% of his dad, accomplishments wise. he is 29 years old and in his 18th pro fight has yet to sign up for an over 8 round fight. he has been fighting 4 and 6 round fights most his career. That just tells me he isn't at all ambitious and isn't gonna do much of anything in boxing. He also lacks power cuz he couldn't even ko the human punching bag yesterday.

i dont think its worth trashing the guy because hes not thomas hearns
thomas hearns is my favorite fighter by far, maybe not the GOAT, but imo the most pleasing to watch of all time. no matter who his son was he wouldnt amount to anything near what the hitman accomplished.
the power he generated from his frame defied all laws of logic and physics so its unreasonable to expect ronald to have it simply cause of who his dad is. I thought Ronald carried the guy last night, he knew he was on TV and i think he wanted to show himself off for a couple rounds. when he decided it was time to knock the bum out he went and did it.
i dont think he will get outclassed and knocked out as soon as he steps up. at 6'3 as a light middleweight he is going to give anyone problems. I think a fight with Chavez Jr will materialize somewhere down the road for pretty good money. hell there is nobody who stands out at all at 154.
spinks-sucks
forrest- way past his best, lost to quartey and got gifted
dzinzurek- who?
de la hoya- can kiss my ass
julio, powell, ouma- all very beatable

a couple of his early fights were televise locally here in michigan on comcast channel and i remember he did an interview where they were asking him why he started so late and he said it was because when he was young he had such a violent temper that his dad was worried if he taught him how to fight he would just use the knowledge to beat the **** out of people on the streets and get himself in trouble.
