i guess cuz there is alot of taylor fans on here.Taylor and Pavlik are both my favourites so no bias here, I thought Pavlik won 115-113, why are so many people on this board thinking Taylor won? I saw the Highway Robbery thread, I must admit Taylor did really well this time but he gave away the last 2 rounds when he was very tired, I think Pavlik won 7 rounds but it was a tough fight to score.
Oh yeah the judge who scored it 9-3 for Pavlik should be shot to death, and the guy who scored 120-108 for Navarro should be shot to death as well.Comment

If a fight is on ESPN2 or HBO championship boxing or BAD sometimes I'll score it. As an excercise in learning to sharpen my boxing eyes I'll sit down, make a little score card and try and glue my eyes to the set and see everything that happens.
Whenever I watch a boxing PPV I go to a local bar, though, and I never sit down and score. Sure, I'll say, "I think Taylor took that round," or "I'd give it to Pavlik" but I don't actually sit down and score. That means, by the time the fight ends, I have an idea of who I think won but not science. I haven't sat down and really attempted to score- I've just went along with the ride, watching intently but not quite with a "judge's eye". I think tons of people are like that and sometimes they get blinded by emotion. They liked Taylor, saw him fight a good fight, end on his feet and said, "JERMAIN ****ING WON!" I tried not to be biased but, before the scores were announced, I admit I saw it as being a razor thing decision that could go either way.
I think most people, in retrospect, admit Pavlik won- but in that moment, right after the fight, some were thinking with their hearts, having not sat down to score it, and when rounds were close just gave it to Jermain for landing 'better' shots and being the man they wanted to win.Comment

Man, I think the people that thought Paul Williams was a God are just as bad as they people who thinks he is garbage now. Yeah, he showed he's flawed and green but, honestly, if he can fight tall and use his height- like he didn't against Quintana- I don't think he's thrown right back to ESPN2 land forever. No, I'm not riding his **** and saying, 'My boy punisher will be back'..but I'm also saying let's not count a boxer out until they've really shown they just can't do it. One bad fight is one bad fight. Two is a problem- and soon we see a habit, and, that a boxer just doesn't have what it takes. I wasn't sold on Paul before that fight and I'm not sold that he's garbage now, either.Comment
