Arum said today that Cotto will fight the winner of Cintron-Margarito this July. With FM and DLH unavailable, the Cotto fight is the biggest potential fight for Margarito. So why exactly does he need a new promoter?

Because its obvious he isnt being promoted properly.

Margarito is fighting for the IBF title on HBO in his next fight. If he wins, he fights Cotto on PPV. Please tell me how any other promoter can do better than that for him?

AM: I have no respect for Floyd as a fighter. He talks about taking the fights that make business sence, but he turned down 8 million to fight me?

JD: Shane Mosley?

AM: Shane has much respect from me. The only fighter man enough to announce he wasn't ready to fight me.
JD: Oscar De La Hoya?

AM: Should retire with a **** by fighting me. He's keeping big fights from happening by misleading people. He needs to decide if he's staying in the game, or is he leaving it.

AM: Should retire.

Listen Margarito is getting the short end of the stick with arum, He has been with Arum for ages but only getting the recognition he deserves now, Cotto is already known...Margarito should be fighting the Gomez's or Mayorga of this world to raise his profile if you dont understand that then there is NO other way for me to put it to you.

Arum was not Baldomir's promoter. Baldomir was the champion, and he chose his best paying option, Mayweather. Margarito never even had a look at that fight.

Clottey was the top rated contender who Margarito would have had to face eventually anyway.

Golden Johnson was a comeback opponent after a loss. Margarito was able to get an impressive win on PPV, which is what led to the big fights he is getting now. Cintron holds a world title, Gomez was a reality show contestant. See the difference? Mayorga last fought at 164. No way in hell is he coming down to 147 to fight a non title match with Margarito. You need to admit the reality that Margarito doesn't have the fanbase that Cotto and Mayweather have, and therefore he can't dictate who he fights. Mayweather and Cotto were top amateurs and considered blue chip prospects. Margarito started as a teenager fighting in dumps against opponents he was mismatched against, not as a protected Arum fighter like the other two were.

He said he wouldn't fight Marg in November. Don't spin that ****.
