When Quintana beat Williams everyone was talking about how this upgrades Cotto and rightfully so but now you also have to ask yourself about Julio. The Williams loss definatly makes Julio's loss to Quintana not seem as bad now. He also "just" turned 23 so he is still very young.
The flip side is that he did look like a overrated pile of crap in that fight and he pretty much looked that way in his next fight also but the Quintana win does change things. 1st off Julio probally overlooked him in that match and when he started giving him problems then he probally felt embarrased which made him fight even worst. Dont get me wrong, Julio wasnt going to beat him anyway but I think knowing a guy is good definatly changes things in the pre fight and post fight.
After Quintana got KO by Cotto, Julio probally still felt bad like he got beat by a bum and his confidence was probally gone for his next fight but now he probally feels great after seeing Quintana beat Williams. Then he probally went back and rewatched the Cotto fight and noticed that Quintana still was doing pretty solid until the KO. The bottom line is I think Julio's loss looks alot better now and I think he feels much more confident after this. I havent seen Julio fight since his fight after the Quintana match. How has he looked? How did he look in his last fight against K-9? K-9 is solid but I also think he is getting washed up so I dont know how great it was. The great thing is that I hear that Julio is scheduled to fight Ishe Smith next in April or March. Is that true? If so then thats a great step up.
The question is do you guys now think that Julio can come back to be a really good fighter since the Quintana loss isnt as bad now and he is so young? Also tell me how he has looked in his last couple of fights. Did he look as good as he did before the loss or not?
