In a time when so many are looking for the next great American heavyweight, supposed pundits will crown almost any undeserving fighter with a glossy record. It's impossible to know for sure whether JD's any good or not until he faces a tough journeyman like Barrett or Ahunyana.

Ryan could verify this when he sees Jameel again, but JD is handling McCline in sparring these days as he prepares him for Ruiz. That really doesn't mean much in regards to how he will do in the ring against better opposistion, but McCline used to own the kid in sparring. As far as Stacy Goodson built fighters, this is the only one that has made any money or in reality been fortunate enough to do anything with their career. JD hasn't come out before and said he was the next great American heavyweight, that has been thrust upon him. For his sake I hope he turns into something, but we/he won't know until he fights another contender.
