    Emanuel's thoughs on Jermain winning

"With logic, if you look at it, the logic has to go with Kelly because of the fact that he won the fight and also I would have to look at the fact his confidence level has gotta be high and he has - I've always said - the style to be the biggest problem for Jermain. Jermain will either look his best beating a Kelly Pavlik or he would lose. Larry Merchant and I were talking, and I said, ‘Larry, Jermain will look sensational with this guy because he's a basic fighter. But if he doesn't really knock him out or do what I think, he's going to be a nightmare because this guy will make Jermain fight, where Jermain can normally fight and rest, have an outburst and rest, because the other guys like Winky Wright backed off the last few rounds playing it safe. Bernard Hopkins too. A lot of them guys eased up. Even Cory Spinks, he decided to wave his hand and dance the last round, so Jermain was able to get by.

"Kelly, if he didn't really knock him out, Kelly was going to make him work when he didn't want to work. And that was the difference and that's what he did, he pushed the issue."

"Jermain has still got fast hands and he's a pretty decent puncher. And the only thing I've ever doubted is Kelly's been down about three times in his pro career," Steward would say. "So there could be a slight problem with the chin. But the thing Jermain's got going for him is, maybe it's a little soon, but I think Jermain is desperate and determined and a desperate and determined man is really dangerous. Don't underestimate that because he's fighting for his whole region. I never saw a guy with so much popularity in his hometown turn against him.

"The weight really favors Kelly because he's a bigger boned person," opines Steward. "So Jermain's going to have to come out and hurt Kelly. He's going to have to hurt him."

Damn! Emanuel seems to agree with me that Jermain's only chance is to go after Pavilk in the first few rounds and get him outta there or else...

I thought his gameplan would be like that too. Go in there and try to bomb Pavlik out early, if that doesn't work try to turn it into a boring fight.

How would it make it a boring fight when Pavlik doesn't take his foot of the gas pedal and does not allow to be held.

This fight goes the distance only if Pavik gets injured, a shoulder, an arm whatever. I am talking worst case scenario here.

That's why I said 'try to' because I doubt he can.

I think Pavlik's chin is iron these days. I know Taylor droped him but he only fell after getting hit with like 7 completely flush shots.. and that only happened b/c Pavlik stuck his chin out at Taylor. And he still got up in one motion. I like Stewart's analysis though.

Taylor has been working on his stamina so he can fight 3 minutes of every 12 rounds.

I agree that Taylor's best chance is to put Pavlik out of there in the first few rounds before Pavlik's pressure gets to him but if Taylor is well-conditioned enough he has a chance to get a decision go his way too if he can keep up with Pavlik's pace.

I don't think it will work and Taylor will lose again, probably by another TKO or possibly a decision if Taylor has enough toughness and willpower to go the distance this time.

For some reason I can't picture Taylor losing a decision.

I think JT might go negative and run and get stopped. But also he might be furied with passion after the defeat and attack Kelly with all hes got and thats his bestchance of winning as long as it dont tire him out to quick like last time

I'll be in Vegas this weekend for the fight and.. if this fight somehow goes to a decision, which is difficult to believe it will.. I think Youngstown is gonna riot through the Vegas strip.
