roy helped to make this famous, and alot of guys do it, but it is sad to say 99 pct of them are not quick enough to keep from getting hit. taylor included!

yep... i think that's kind of a sickness or something, or at least some condition like people who cannot play an instrument with ease, concentrate at school, be good at math, etc... personally it happened to me while i was playing basketball, in any official game we had in highschool my coach told me what to do and it was just what we always trained, but i went out there like crazy and did whatever i wanted, even tho i played PG, and that was it, i just couldn't concentrate because everything i did was like it just flowed outta my body, so i guess same thing happens to jermain, he's just to natural that his body makes the fight, not his brains

Honestly I don;t give a **** if you fight with your left hand in your shorts all night but at least keep your shoulder up. Look at Mayweather, Toney, Hopkins. They guard the body with the arm and the face with the shoulder and are so good at rolling and countering any straight or looping right hand.

JMM is the best though he keeps his left up his shoulder up and his elbow is just low enough to protect his body. The most versatile fighter in today's game, best offense probably too.

It's the style he had as an amateur, he never changed it for some reason.

It doesn't seem to be effective. Basically, if he doesn't dodge the punch, he gets tagged. Could somebody explain why he fights with that style.

Pavlik's gonna k.o. him again if he doesn't change something. I think JT throws a more effective jab than pavlik, it's just that pavlik keeps his hands up, so they don't land as much.
i've always wondered why too.....he's a squared up version of Floyd

because he's fought like since he began boxing probably, perhaps through a hundred or more amature bouts and cant break the habit no matter what.
