Taylor has received the most criticism in the history of boxing while being so close to winning a fight.
OK. So at one point in the fight, it looked like Taylor might win. After round 2, it never looked that way again. Pavlik got ****y, stuck his chin out at Taylor, and he got caught. At no other point in the fight after that, did it ever appear Pavlik was in jeopardy of losing. A lot of people view it as "Taylor almost knocked out Pavlik". I view it more as.. "Taylor got a gift.. basically a free shot at Pavlik, and still couldn't finish him"
if they're giving +200 or any plus money on taylor it's a damn good bet, because if they fight goes to the cards, unless taylor gets pummeled for 12, he can't lose on the score cards. taylor gets the most favoritism with the judges more than anyone else i can think of in recent history.
the fact that the official judges had him winning the last fight is a damn travesty of scoring a fight!
they gave him a gift decision over hopkins twice, winning their first fight when he was out landed and almost knocked out, and they gave him the decision over hopkins in their second fight which taylor did do better but he sure as hell didn't land anything of significance, which that fight at best should've been a draw, because no one won that fight.
and then his fight with winky wright, which i had winky winning by two rounds, because he brought the fight to taylor and got the better of him on the inside up against the ropes and winky out boxed taylor ebough to eek out two rounds in an exciting fight, but no, the favoritism of taylor, HBO and company couldn't let their baby boy, their "superstar" lose on the cards so the best thing they could've done was give out a draw and try and dupe the people into believing their taylor propaganda.
when any hbo fighter is fighting all they do is try and highlight everything that their fighter does, it takes the obvious for them to call the fight the other way, they also like to jibber jab and talk through and not call the action when the opponent is doing something well that should be called, so in turn people who can't see what is happening themselves start to only see what the hbo commentators call and dwell on. it's bull****.
but in short, taylor basically can't lose on the cards, so it would be a decent bet for some extra cash to take the gamble of betting on taylor.
i still say that pavlik is going to have to knockout taylor to win again or drop him a few times and beat the piss out of him in order to win on the cards.
i seriously suspect taylor to come out like gangbusters in the first four rounds and if he doesn't hurt pavlik or win the fight within that time, he's going to get on his bicycle and try to extend the fight to the 12 round for the decision...................
you're better off not betting with a sportsbook, take a prop bet instead if you do that way you give yourself a chance to win some money. that or bet a friend, i don't see the any real reason to put up $160 to win $100.
