    Why did Witter fight Judah?

He was so young, and it was so early in his career, not to mention that I think he took the fight on short notice... basically he left himself absolutely no way to win the fight, and now it is his only loss on a decently long resume.

I think he might actually have more leverage in the 140 division if he was undefeated. Even though the loss means close to nothing, it is still more enticing to beat an undefeated fighter, because that would be the first time that would happen.

I hate how people put so much emphasis on an undefeated record. It doesn't mean much if you don't beat anyone my friend. Look at it this way, it was a good payday AND he had a chance to beat one of the best fighters in the world. He is a fighter at heart so why wouldn't he take the bout?

Because it was on short notice, and he was still a rookie.

Rookies without time to train are not going to beat established, good fighters.

And notice how I said the loss means next to nothing, but it would probably gain him some bargaining room, just because everyone really does want to be the first to take out a good boxer.

Not to mention, Witter just beat Harris who was one of the few big names at 140, so that's why his record is validated with or without the loss IMO.

Yeah, I don't know why he did that. I figured the only fighters that take bouts on that short of notice are those who are never going to be anything or have already had their best days. Either way, I figured it was fighters who were just looking for a pay day that did that.

Well to be fair, he was super young against Super Judah. He looks like he fought pretty damn well against Vivian Harris.

2-3 months is a LONG time compared to the 2 weeks Witter agreed to.

Honestly, it takes a while to study tapes and concoct a strategy to counter your opponent's style, and Witter didn't have close to long enough to do that.
