WBO Gives Margarito 5 Days For Quintana

According to the latest report in Endi, the WBO has given Antonio Margarito five-days to decide if he's going to exercise his right as the mandatory challenger to welterweight champion Carlos Quintana. If Margarito goes forward with his April 12 rematch with IBF champion Kermit Cintron, he will lose his mandatory position. [details]

there's no way margarito gets past cotto. cotto is just as powerful with a far better game plan_ not to mention cotto has a big advantage on an inside fight_ cotto is a better body puncher and has shorter arms (great inside advantage) and margarito can't box or fight from the outside for ****.

i dont even think he'll get pass cintron this time around.

all 4 belts will be with P.R. after floyd fights cotto

Margarito won't last four rounds with Cotto, cotto will sent him to chihuahua on speedy Gonzalez express. the only thing that i see is that the Tainos will figts among themselves, Cotto, CIntron, Quintana. but id floyd put on his pink panties again and start dancing again. then Cotto will send floyd under the tables in the casinos in las vegas.

IMO that means Margarito would fight Cintron, Williams and Clottey/Quintana winner this year, Cotto would fight Gomez, Mayorga and the winner who emerges from the little four way cluster. I have heard Cotto is gonna fight 3--4 fights this year, Arum said 4!!!!
Sounds pretty good to me considering the winner of this would have 3 of the 4 belts and a superfight with Floyd on the horizon.

Exactly. He's wanted the big fights and getting the fight with Cotto would be just that. A big payday for him and a chance to really make a name for himself. Fighting Quintana could ruin that. I actually would pick Marge over Quintana, but Carlos could very well outbox him and get the decision. I think Cintron has the perfect style for him and than after that fight Cotto. I think he loses to Cotto, but at least he has that opportunity. He messed up last year taking the chance with Paul Williams, he doesn't need to do that again.

No it's just that Cintron has a style that fits well for Tony and Marge also has that mental advantage on him after that beating he gave him. Quintana on the other hand is a slick boxer that could present problems for the slow and wide punching Maragarito.

                    To Fishy

This is all to fishy that Clottey is coming out of the woodwork and saying he never talked to Bob Arum about the mandatory and he wants the Cintron fight on 4/12 and now a day later the WBO says that Margarito has 5 days. Cintron clearly signed the fight(according to Bob Arum in the article) did Margarito? If not I think it is ironic that PW loses and this all comes out? I do not want so see this bull**** where Cintron is forced to fight Clottey cuz he wasn't paid any step aside money(promoted by Arum) and now Margarito magically fights Quintana who was an 8-1 underdog.

Please just let the Cintron Margarito(IBF) fight go on and have Quintana fight Clottey#4 WBO. Cotto(WBA) then fights winner of Cintron Margarito and that winner fight WBO winner. THen finally a fight for all 4 belts with floyd.
