I'd love to see this fight.
Harris is rangy, can box, & can **** with both hands.

I think Kelson Pinto actually troubled Cotto when he used his range & boxed a bit.
Harris, unlike Pinto, can box from long range while still being dangerous.

If Cotto pulled this one out I'd finally be convinced he's the real goods.

You're right, jabs, about Harris being more effective from long range than Pinto. The difference will be the pressure Cotto brings, and his decent defense. Harris can't handle being pressured without brawling, and apart from Tzyu and MAYBE Hatton, Cotto is the best pressure fighter at 140. Now, so far the only time the pressure strategy has worked against him was when he met Ray Oliveira, so I'm not just gonna write him off. But like I said, Cotto is the best at pressure at junior welter. Harris will give him a good test, but will ultimately fail.

Oh, my other point is that Cotto plays pretty good defense, and he doesn't just go into a defensive shell when someone is showing a him a jab, so Harris won't be as effective as usual.

Harris is actually very good when he stands back and boxes but he can be forced out of that strategy very quick and I think Cotto will be able to do that. When Pinto used his jab and did box a little he forced Cotto to be more defensive but he wasn't that effective to me. Cotto block most of Pinto's punches and landed his own which forced Pinto to want to fight back and get caught. I'll take Cotto by decision maybe late stoppage.

cotto by decision, i dont think either of these guys lose by kayo, i could see harris give cotto a flash kd early and see cotto come on strong in the later rounds.

I like Harris, but I have to admit he has his shortcomings. What the others have said are right, he isn't at his best when pressured. Cotto is all about pressure. With that said, I still don't think this is easy to pick. Cotto has never been in with someone with the handspeed that Harris has (one of the things I like most about Harris). Harris's feet are just as fast as his hands. Cotto will have his hands full against a real top 5 level 140lber, yeah I have much faith in Harris's ability.

This is a great fight if it happens. Real hard to pick a winner.

Harris deserves at least a shot against these name guys, he has put in his time, win or lose he should get the opportunity

Cotto would have the most trouble with Harris IMO. Like everyone has already said Harris is rangy, packs a punch, and has good handspeed. He's certainly a tough opponent.

That being said I think Cotto would either take this bout by TKO in the late rounds (9-10), or by a close UD. Cotto has the goods...he's the most complete fighter I've seen in awhile and I've been saying for a long time that he'll be the next big thing in boxing. I don't think Vivian will derail his rise to the top. He would have his hands full however.

i think harris has a great shot at beating cotto if he keeps himself calm and boxes..he may even ko cotto..what cotto would have to do is pressure him into a inside fight...this s a hard one..and i like both of them...cuz they both deserve respect...

my head said cotto(cus the kid is so good) but my heart saids harris (just to get respect)
