Filipino light flyweight Rodel Mayol appears to have been the victim of a set-up in his fight against undefeated knockout artist Adrian Hernandez (11-0, 9 KO’s) in a preliminary bout in the fight card titled “Asi Ruge Leon” or “The Roar of the Lion” in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico last Sunday morning Manila Time. all told, that is hearsay. the fight was not seen on the screen and we have no idea what really transpired in that fight. but did ronnie say mayol was hit by a punch after getting careless? so what's the fuzz? he was counted out, meaning he was knocked out cold by hernandez. what i can't understand is that ronnie is fast in believing the story of another's story. mayol was not as good as he believed to be. his not standing after the count of ten means he cannot continue. period. that means he gets KO'd. instead of writing good article, ronnie seemed to insinuate that mayol lost because he was cheated in that fight. he want to get sympathy out of mayol's loss. did ronnie say something about darchinyan's loss to gorres last week in cebu? ronnie, next time, write something credible that will excite the boxing fans not to insinuate to the world that a filipino pug lost the fight because he was cheated. -

This article is some backwards ****s!
Mayol;s face showed frustration and in round four he “got careless and got hit with a clean right straight that sent him down on the seat of his trunks.”
Dr. Recto told us, “he didn’t seem hurt, his eyes were clear, not crossed or dazed but the look on his face showed despair. His facial expression said that’s it for me and despite his corner yelling “Tayo Mayol tayo. Kaya mo yan” he never stood up until the count was over.” After he was counted out Mayol stood up and went back to his corner. He was okay and did not seem hurt at all.”Comment

This article is crazy...
As much as I'd like Mayol to win,,, the fact that he got KO'ed is fair & square... No controversies here...
The one to be blame here is he's agent Michael Koncz and Mayol himself...
If he feel he has the disadvantage, he shouldn't accepted the fight...
An 11-0 (9 KO) record Opponent is someone Mayol should have handled...
How can some be worthy of Title fight if he cannot handle such opponent???

It was Mayol's fault if he didnt get up. The fact that he dont know who is fighting until he entered the ring shows the kind of preparation the host got. There are also questions on the weigh-in of the mysterious fighter, or was he even weighed at all. Also the fact that he was given an 8 count for a slip. He may felt that he's being cheated already so he had enough, but then again a loss would be credited to him. They shouldve not accepted it in the first place.Comment
