How are refs picked?

Just curious how they are given fights. Huge boxing fan but have no idea how this works. Per say how Smoger gets back to back Pavlik fights.

the atletic commission of the state picks the referees, unfortunately Smogar probably won't be the ref because he usually refs on the east coast

yea i think smoger just does the eastt coast. he holds some kinda position in ac i think, i forget.

I was just using the example of him getting the Pavlik/Miranda and then Pavlik/Taylor.

So I'm guessing they pick the best refs for the bigger fights.
