Nate Campbell: "It's Fight, Kill, or Die on March 8"

By Ryan ******** - "I know exactly what you're watching for," Nate Campbell tells this observant scribe as he gracefully moves around the ring. "You want to know if I still have legs, don't you?" Given the fact that Campbell will turn 36 the day before he challenges the 24 year old WBA/IBF/WBO Lightweight champion Juan Diaz, 33-0 (17 KO), the issue of whether his feet still follow what the brain says is of primary significance. Galaxy warrior ( or however he spells it) is in for a fight. I see baby bull winning by KO in the early rounds, but Nate may just shine and prove me wrong. Here's hoping that Nate wins just because we had a grocery store called "Galaxy" in the hood a decade or so ago

Thanks a lot Troy, I had fun with this piece. I'll be seeing Nate again today at the gym around noon.

I dunno about Diaz KOing anyone in the early rounds. He hasn't scored any early knockouts since July 2005, when he stopped Arthur Cruz in 5 in a non-title fight. Campbell is better than Cruz.

When Campbell fought Casamayor, he was working at a Winn-Dixie supermarket in Jacksonville.

Nice article. I think Nate will give Diaz more troubles than some think, but Juan's punch output and good defense himself will be tough to overcome for Nate. I see either a late round KO like Diaz has done in his last two fights or a decision win.

I got "Baby Bull" Juan Diaz all day! Campbell can talk all the stuff he wants, but he's going 2 leave with the same thing the other 33 opponents got... A LOSS

i'm a fan of both and i have been big on nate in the past, he can win this fight but he has to fight the perfect fight and not take off one second in this fight let alone a round. nate has better be ready to fight a hard pressed 12 rounds or he's going to get eaten up if he doesn't.

good fight though but going off of past performances i have to lean towards diaz.

good luck to campbell, he has my support. i just don't like fights when i like and have respect for both guys..................
