Fantasy Fight! Thomas Hearns vs Kelly Pavlik

I know Kelly Pavlik has yet to acheive the things that the great Tommy Hearns has acomplished with a pair of gloves! But because of their similiar style and build, I thought it would make a great fantasy fight!

Who do you think would win?

Hearns would need to try and outbox him as long as he can. Though I see Pavlik catching him and knocking him out. I think Kelly's chin is better then Hearn's and is also stronger.

I think Pavlik knocks him out. Its not a fair comparison...Hearns was a welterweight, Pavlik wont be at 160 longer.

Hearns didn't have the greatest chin

Pavlik. He's too big and his stamina is too good, Pavlik catches him in about 8, not a fair matchup.

I like Kelly, but I'm not 100% sold on him beating ATGs like Hearns just yet. I think Thomas definitely could outbox him if he wanted to, but if he got ****** into a brawl like he did against Hagler, I could see Kelly catching him. Ask me this question again in another 2 years, at the very least after the Taylor rematch.

Hmm at middle? Hearns is one of my favorites but at middleweight i think Pavlik would be too big,Hearns would have to finish him early, very early,he didnt have the best chin, with Pavliks power and stamina, and Hearns chin,i could see Pavlik winning, just because hes the naturaly bigger guy

Exactly. Like lets say Ray Robinson is an ATG and everything but would he beat Wlad? The size difference is too much, Hearns was a welterweight. Iran Barkley and Ray Leonard who dont punch any harder than Kelly Pavlik. Pavlik has had fights at Light Heavyweight in his career, he is planning to move to super middleweight soon because he admitted that he had problems in making weight.

At middleweight thats actually a very interesting fight IMO.

Have to go with Hearns by KO late. I could see Kelly winning though

Since when did Hearns ever have a KO late? He had stamina and chin issues...Kelly actually gets stronger in the later rounds of the fight so I dont how you can predict a late KO by Hearns, an early is possible but if it goes to later rounds its all Pavlik

I agree, some people sometimes get carried away with ATG and reality,i think the size would just be too big,Tommy would have to do it early, but his power wasnt as devastating at middle
