He isn't a fraud because he wasn't exposed. He just lacks the drive to go f or the kill and is much to methodical and tentative to put on a show.

I don't think anyone really ranks Holt high enough for him to be a fraud. He's top 10 or 15 contender at 140. I think that's what most people rank him as.

You know I think you are right. Now that I think of it, my comment about Holt being a fraud is directed more towards Holt himself, due to all the running of his mouth he has done since his wins over Isaac and Aranoutis, claiming he'll take out anyone in the jr. welter division. And then he gets in with a BenTackie (solid journeyman) and looks like complete ****.

I'll agree with that. He talks more than he's likely to ever back up. He has the talent to become at least a decent titlist who might be able to win and defend a belt 3 or 4 times, but I doubt he'll ever even do that much less clean up 140.

yeah, personally, I don't like it when fighters run their mouth. I can tolerate it when the fighter gets in the ring and backs it up though. And by backing it up I don't necessarily mean the fighter has to win (although that's the primary objective), I mean that at least the fighter gets in there and shows some REAL stones and will go out on his back if he has to.

It will be intersteing to see if Holt can even win a title at 140. He has the skills and speed no doubt, but after what I just saw a doubt he has the stones. Certainly nothing to be running his mouth over. We'll see?

Yeah I mean from all accounts he was in a good fight with Ricardo Torres which I mean that shows he does have some stones. But like Wally Matthews said, he lost and even if you agree that the stoppage was premature he was fading fast. I think he gets another shot or two so he has time. But you're right. When you talk as much as Holt does just being a solid contender isn't enough. You've got to have an impressive win over a real elite guy before you get away with some of that stuff.
