I think everyone just needs to stop that hate now because the GODS are giving us what we want.
The Quintana win clears up the whole division. All Cotto & Floyd have to do now is take care of business. I keep telling people to stop crying about Floyd & Oscar because this is by far the best thing to happened if you want to see a Floyd-Cotto fight.
1st off Oscar has the HBO fight with Forbes or whoever and he will look so good that it will build interest in a rematch with Floyd that will be at WW. In the mean time Cotto will kill a fighter in Gomez who still has some solid popularity after the Contender series so it will build up Cotto's name. Then around the same time of the Floyd-Oscar fight will be Cotto vs the Margarito-Cintron winner. The winner of Margarito-Cintron will have there stock go up alot which will make the fight against Cotto even bigger.
That will give Cotto alot of credit for beating the winner. In the meantime we get back to Floyd. I keep telling people that if you want to see Floyd-Cotto happened then you should be happy about the Oscar fight because it will make Floyd very confident about beating Cotto. Is Oscar not the perfect tuneup for Cotto? Im not saying he's as good but if he fights a big orthodox fighter with a great left hook at WW and wins then that is a perfect tuneup for the Cotto fight. I also think the Oscar fight will be alot more entertaining then people think because of the fact that it will be at WW, Oscar will have Floyd's dad in his corner, you know Oscar will be much more aggressive this time, you know Floyd wont have any fear of Oscar hurting him anymore, and you know that Floyd will be super confident about trading with him after the Hatton fight. It wont be nearly as big as the 1st fight but it will still do good numbers.
After that, there is no way that Floyd will retire. You guys know as well as I do that he's not going to just walk away. We also know that he only wants big money fights so who else is there besides Cotto? Then you will also have Roger in his ear because you know he will want the fight. Also Floyd knows that it will seal his legacy because of the way people feel about Cotto. Alot of people want that fight now but that fight will be twice as big after all that happeneds. It will be the biggest fight in years. Everyone will be talking about it on every channel and all the stars will be out. No way Floyd will turn that down. Thats why I say that we all need to chill because as long as they win there upcoming fights then this thing will happend. Also add to the fact that Floyd is only going to get bigger and more comfortable in that extra time.
In his last 4 fights Floyd will have beat Baldy, Oscar, Hatton, and then Oscar again. That is the perfect tuneup for Cotto. He will feel ready. He probally also thinks think he can surpise Cotto with his speed after Cotto fights Gomez and the Magarito-Cintron winner. Meanwhile by that time Cotto will be a mega stay and possibly on Tito's level while being seen as a PR version of Tyson. No other WW will have any kind of case except for maybe Clottey who's only loss was to Margarito when he said he hurt his hand but no one will give him the benefit of doubt, he doesnt have any kind of star power, and he's looked average in alot of his fights.
