    After Last Night

Anyone feel different about Hopkins having a chance against Calzaghe? I was always thinking Calzaghe is gonna run away with an easy victory but now I am at least a little scared at the possibility of Hopkins winning this fight!!!! Hopkins gets dirty throws wild shots like Quintana maybe sneaks in some early rounds and gets the momentum and wins? Sounds crazy but I would have said the same thing about Williams/Quintana!!!!

Hopkins winning wouldn't be a huge surprise. If he can fight at his own pace and stop Calzaghe throwing so much he has a good chance of winning anyway

I just see it as Williams and Calzaghe both depend on outpunching and outworking there opponents and Quintana dug down deep and kept coming and fought hard and grimy maybe not dirty but not pretty either!!!! Hopkins needs to do the same fight hard and well Dirty and get inside and hug and clinch and headbutt and throw them bows and it could turn out just like last night, IMO Hopkins over Calzaghe is a huge upset right now, considering how off Hopkins offense has been lately!!!!

That's where people make mistakes in picking winners. Great offensive fighters usually get overrated immediately after their biggest fights, especially when they're fighting great defensive fighters.

That said, if Calzaghe can't beat a 43 year old Hopkins then he really isn't that good. It's one thing to beat Jeff Lacy and Mikkel Kessler with pile on flurries and non stop motion. It's another thing to beat someone who's actually trying to defend himself and win strategically.
