I think Quintana is better than Margarito. Williams and Margarito have very similar styles and make a lot of the same mistakes. Quintana could actually make a pretty big name for himself if he wins a rematch against Williams and then defends successfully against the Margarito-Cintron loser. I think that alone might be enough to land him a Cotto fight.

Cotto is also better than most of the other welterweights that Quintana either has fought or might fight.

Quintana is definitely better than both those guys. Margarito & Williams have been exposed but at least Williams took his loss like a man. It just goes to show how low the Floyd haters will go. They will try to hype anyone just to discredit the great ring accomplishments of Floyd.

Funny how you turn every thread into something about Floyd.

Quintana is a better boxer than Margarito and Williams, but he lacks the chin, activity and power of Margarito and the chin and activity of Williams. Because of that M and W would beat some fighters that Q couldn't.

Williams and Margarito do have similar styles. Only difference is Margarito isn't a feather fisted lop.

Who have Margarito and Williams beaten that Quintana couldn't? Williams' best win is against Margarito. Clearly you don't think Quintana could beat Margarito, but I think that's a pick'em fight or Quintana is a slight favorite. Margarito's best win is against Cintron and then probably Clottey. Again, Quintana is right in the mix with both of those guys.

Really the problem to me is that these other top 10 welterweights haven't fought each other. At some point, it needs to get passed the point where guys are just sitting around waiting for either Mayweather or Cotto to fight them. They need to go out and beat the rest of the top 10 welterweights. THAT is why Floyd fans get excited to see an overhyped guy lose. Because the facts are that Margarito, Williams and Quintana all have only 1 or 2 top 10 guys on their resume, which makes them roughly equal.

So are you saying that Margarito is going to hit Quintana more often or that he's going to hurt Quintana?

Quintana is a great boxer but he also likes to get in close and mix it up once in a while. No question Quintana has better skills but thru the course of a 12 round fight I think Margarito catches him.
