A Real Question Now Has To Be Asked?

Is the WW division overrated? Weve built it up for the last few years but its starting to look that way. Im not going to diss cats after 1 loss but besides Floyd & Cotto, all of these guys look seriously flawed. The fact is that right now it looks like a deep division with a bunch of "solid" guys but only 2 really special or great fighters.

There have been alot of threads and articles talking about how Floyd is a bum for not taking advantage of cleaning out a super tough division like the fighters in the old days but the truth is that this division isnt really worth being cleaned out. The only guy Floyd should have to fight at all is Cotto and thats enough. Cotto might have to do more since he's still young and its basically his 1st division. This is really setting up to be a great Super Fight that I think could happend around this time next year close to Floyd's 32nd birthday

This division has 12 or so guys that are all worthy opponents.. It's a very good division and anything can happen.

Are you serious? The Welterweight division was the most exciting because Paul was "the most feared" but now that he lost, it's overrated? ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME?

Its' overrated because none of the top fighters are fighting each other. You have Mayweather ducking everyone, Williams just lost his match when he was expected to win, and most importantly none of the fighters are really good as some people claim they are. (Paul Williams, Antonio Margarito)

actually yes. Does that answer surprise you? I thought that it was very possible that Quintana could win and I even made threads about it but if Williams is as great as people said he was then he shouldve won this fight easily. If Margarito is as good as people say he is then he should not be losing to average guys like Santos just because he moved up 1 time. It goes on and on. Everytime you get excited about a guy, they then look close to the opposite the next time around. Its like that for every single one of these guys so far except for Floyd & Cotto. Clottey is solid but he also has a ton of fights where he only looks "solid". We all know how Zab is. Look at Cintron's last fight. Collazo looks good then gets dominated by an older Mosley. It goes on and on with all these guys.

You cant just overlook that like it doesnt mean nothing. The fact is that in this sport guys are going to lose but sooner or later if your great then you have to start looking like that consistently and none of these guys have done that except for the big 2. Its not the fact that a guy loses but its how they look great 1 fight and then completely average the next. That is dissapointing

I think the fact that Quintana was able to win, shows you just how deep this division really is.

The division did take a hit, but it still p4p one of the best in boxing

Why do you guys act like fighters dont have to win? **** that ****. I dont play that moral victory ****. You cant keep telling me that these guys are top notch and then they lose fights to guys who are just solid fighters. Its like when people tell me that Oscar is so great because he's fought everyone. Well sooner or later you also have to win those fights. Dont tell me your great just because you fought a ton of guys. You have to win these fights.

The bottom line is this: It starts off looking deep when everyone beats everyone and you can play it like its a very good & deep division but just like in every other sport, that soon changes to being mediocre.
