Lol. Why do gay people always call anyone who makes fun of them for being gay gay back as if that's an original or funny comeback?

You said, "your British of course you're going to find boxing exciting." So I said, "I'm Mexican and I find boxing exciting." In other words, nationality has nothing to do with it. But you decided to jump off of the nationalistic generalizations when it didn't suit you.

Lol. I called you gay because you want boxing to be a big reality tv show so that you can get excited about it.

Hey man do you. If you need somebody else to get you excited about a fight that's you, but don't come on a boxing message board complaining about how boxers aren't being hyped enough they don't do enough MTV appearances.

Everyone else in this message board likes boxing. Take your nostalgic rants to a Starbucks or a bougie cafe.

          what a dumb ass.

          you have no idea.

only a fool will say hyping up and promoting and marketing a fight doesnt help it.

I can tell you are not a business major.

This is the main reason boxing is dying compared to what it was before, lack of exposure you dumbass just cause a few of you guys still watch it doesnt mean jack **** you need mainstream coverage for it to survive to the level it once was.

First of all, I never said that hyping a fight doesn't sell a fight. What I said is that everyone in here is a true boxing fan for one reason or another. We don't get bored of the sport because there aren't a lot of mainstreaming stars in the sport. If there weren't ANY fights for a full year then I'd get bored of it. You get bored because there aren't enough publicity appearances by boxers. I think that's gay.

Do you think Cory Spinks got rewarded when Jermain Taylor couldn't hit him? Like I said in another post. There's more to boxing than standing with your feet in cement throwing bombs. Just like in any other sport, if you can't solve the other guy's defense then you DESERVE to lose.
Cory Spinks is a great example. He cant get a fight with anyone and nobody pays to see him. Hes defensive style won him a fight with Mayorga which was a horrible decision. Jermain Taylor beat him too, theirs no question about it. They are bad for the sport, it clearly shows. They take a hit in the pockets and ratings year after year.

You have to be able to hit a guy. It's part of the job of being a boxer. Neither Jermain or Mayorga did anything impressive against Spinks. I don't want to hear the excuse that Cory ran. He didn't. He did the same thing he did against Zab and Zab hit him a bunch of times and even put him down. Zab is a lot smaller than Taylor and Mayorga.

It's bad for the sport when so called offensive fighters can't hit their opponent. Zab proved that Spinks can be hit and hurt badly if you know what you're doing. The thing that's bad for the sport is that Cory Spinks will fight anybody and Zab Judah is the only one who actually knew how to hit and hurt him. You can't blame that on defensive fighters. If offensive fighters suck what is a defensive fighter supposed to do? Take a dive?

Yeah Mayorga never touched him. Spinks hit the canvas 5 times and was scared to exchange for the whole 12. You say dont say he ran but thats exactly what he did. Was this a Knockdown if so Mayorga won the fight?

You cant win a fight by running backwards, being scared to punch, and causing no damage all while posing no threat.
I dont want to turn this into a Mayorga Spinks thread becuase its been done before and MOST thought Mayorga won easy.

Defensive fighters shouldnt take a dive but they shouldnt be winning championships. Perfect example by you bringing up Spinks.

that mayorga vs spinks fight was shady...don king probally paid off the judges to build up cory spinks like his dad and get that spinkx jinks thing going.
but cory cannot sell a fight his style is not crowd pleasing or money worth.

I had mayorga winning, its funny how people say ring general ship? but you must also score aggression in my opinion and mayorga was aggressive and pressing the fight.

Spinks WON the championship. In the bottom clip I think it's clear as day that their feet got tangled. I'm glad you provided the clip because otherwise we wouldn't have video evidence and this would just be a he said-he said thing.

The thing is people describe Cory Spinks as being scared and running, but that runs counter to what you actually see. He fights ANYBODY. Part of that is because he doesn't really attract money, but most of that is because he's not scared.

Then there's the whole Mayorga thing. He fouled, pushed and tripped Spinks because he was frustrated and the people who despise defensive fighters want to believe those were knockdowns. Now, watch the Spinks-Judah fights. Zab knocked Cory Spinks senseless. THAT is how you knock a guy out. THAT is how you win fights. THAT is impressive.

I don't want this to be a Spinks-Mayorga debate either because you're not going to change my mind. I'm a firm believer that defense is an important and underappreciated part of the sport.
