The guy he is fighting has a pretty good resume as meaning he only lost 2 fights and won over 40 of them. Which means the guy has alot of experience.

I don't know much about Trabant but I expect Berto to start taking some risks pretty soon.

NO he isnt stepping up to nothing, Trabant resume is very deceiving, He isnt different from most of the european fighters whose resume are padded, I have seen 3 of his fights in germany and he wouldnt last 6 rounds with Berto.

Berto should be looking for a better oppoenent than him IMO.

Trabant has probably never been hit as hard as he will be in this fight. The only question to me is whether he gets stopped or pounded on for all 10 rounds. I don't think there should be any rush to put Berto in a title fight since he is still young and the division is very tough right now.

Yea i think this is a good step up for Berto. A small step in the right direction.

By '09 he should be in the mix at the top 10

THIS is how a promising young prospect should be managed, NOT like Andy Lee is being managed. Thats the eqivilant of the Berto of over a year ago calling out Floyd Mayweather... MISMATCH.

Who knows how good Trabant is, but he's quite possibly a different kind of fighter that Berto hasn't faced. I don't know if it's a step up, but it seems this guy has experience. Like Kball said Berto is getting good management and stepping up slowly instead of fast especially in the tough WW division.

Yes he is. Trabant is ranked #12 in the IBO rankings and both of his losses were against ranked fighters, one was a SD, the other a MD. After his fight, Berto would still be at least a year away from a title shot though, imo.

You're right, but most of the people that want to see Berto in with top competition now don't really give a **** about what is best for his career.

He wanted Gomez and Quintana but we both know how that went.
