How many times has Wladimir Klitschko been Knocked down?

12 times. 4 times against Sanders, 3 times against Peter, 2 times against Brewster, once against Williamson, once against Puritty (maybe twice I haven't seen it) and once early in his career, maybe more.
Wlad has been down a lot, I'm not sure if any other heavyweight champion except Floyd Patterson has him beat.
But to Wladimir's credit, just like Patterson, he has gotten up every single time.Comment

There was only a standing 8 against Brewster while he was on the ropes which techincally counts but he finished the last round on his feet. He only went down after the round when he fell over the ref's feet with dead legs. There was the wierd exhausted slip/collapse after he knocked down Brewster in the previous round but that wasn't a knock down either.
The Williamson was official but it was really more of a push/balance shot where Wlad stumbled backwards with his hands touching the canvas. Nothing to write home about, more of a push than anything.
Here is the odd Puritty/fatigue collapse with what looks like no clean punches landing at the time of the knockdown for anyone interested.
I may be wrong but all three of the Peter knockdowns struck me as bull**** at the time. Even the last one looked like Wlad slipped without being hit while he was backpaddling, Peter landed a good shot at some point before and that may have had him dazed but it wasn't really a big hit knockdown as I recall. Strangely, couldn't find this one on youtube.
Sanders just blasted him to hell and back.Last edited by Thunder Lips; 02-09-2008, 10:59 PM.Comment

at the sensitivity of the Wlad huggers to jump to his defense when the guy wasn't even being bashed in the first place, it was a simple question.

The next time he goes down will be the most funny...as it will 'shock' all his loyalists.
The guy has a glass chin,we all know that...Sultan might even tap it.

In the video I found on youtube? The angle was bad but I had a hard time seeing if that uppercut landed cleanly let alone if it was huge or not. Personally, it looked like Wlad was falling back and it hit his glove if not completely missed.
Anyway, many people here never saw the knockdown so I posted the only video I could find of it for the curious. Should I have wrote Puritty lands devestating combo to floor a fresh looking Wlad? That would be misleading. Call me crazy but losing an easy fight to Puritty because of poor conditioning isn't exactly excusable. It is what happened though, why pretend otherwise? Wlad's inconsistent stamina has always worried more than his so called glass chin.Last edited by Thunder Lips; 02-12-2008, 10:51 AM.Comment
