Ajose Olusegun has warned his light-welterweight rivals 'you can't hide from me for ever'.

The Commonwealth champion defends his title against Nigel Wright on Friday Fight Night, but is gunning for WBC king Junior Witter and maybe even Ricky Hatton.

Olusegun is ranked eighth by the WBC but after 21 pro contests has found himself a fully-fledged member of the 'who needs him club'.

But, says the 28-year-old, there will be no hiding place once he has overcome the challenge of Hartlepool's Wright.

"Ricky Hatton has definitely avoided me and I can understand that," he told Sky Sports.

"Junior Witter has avoided me and I can understand. He held the Commonwealth title for a long time and I was the number one contender for two years.

"I wanted to fight him, I made it public that I wanted to fight him. Now he is a world champion and I am in and around the top 10 with the WBC, so OK, I still want to fight him."

But first Olusegun has to go in to the lion's den and defend against Wright in front of a packed Peterlee Leisure Centre.

He admits it will be a tough test of his credentials, but is confident he can extend his unbeaten record to 22-0.

"He can punch - I can punch better. He can move - I can move better. He's technically good - but I am better when it comes to being technical," he said.

"It's going to be a good fight, but I am going to win!"

Wright though sees Olusegun as his own passport to the big time.

His own 21-1-2 slate boasts the impressive scalp of British welterweight boss Kevin McIntyre and he comes into this on the back of a decent draw in his English title defence against Lenny Daws.

And the Hartlepool man says he has it all to gain, and Olusegun everything to lose.

"I'm not scared. I've always said I'll fight anyone out there at 10stone," he said.

"Give me eight weeks to prepare and I'll get in with anybody. People say he's Mr Avoided, but I've been avoided myself - I only had two fights last year.

"If I win this, like he says, he's ranked seven by the WBC so I'll go straight into the top 10 in the world as well."

Yeah but notice that Olusegun had a legitimate shot at Witter, something Witter has never had on Hatton.

Witter might as well fight Olusegun now that D-Hop has pulled out of their fight.
But really, if people want to criticize Witter's opposition, just look at the opposition Olusegun has beaten.

Olusegun was ranked number 8 before his win against wright so will probably move up a few places Witter might as well just fight him now.

This clown doesn't belong in the same ring as Witter or Hatton, Wright gave him all he could handle and thats just not World class.
