The most feared is probably Wladimir Klitschko, the most avoided is Jose Armando Santa Cruz. While Williams is a very avoided fighter, he at least has a title, Santa Cruz is dangerous and brings nothing to the table now. So all the big names will avoid him, while Williams is at least defending his trinket against respectable Quintana. Don King said that Ray Austin was terrified in the locker-room before he stepped out ot get knocked out by Wlad, and I'm sure guys like Brock was the same way. Iggy is probably at least a little afraid.

Juan Diaz is the best fighter in the lightweight division and Casamayor is the liner champion, Santa Cruz smacked Joel for 12 rounds, but was ROBBED, so he is the uncrowned lightweight champ. However, NONE of the top lightweights want to fight him, as for Williams (who is avoided and if he didn't have a trinket would be even more avoided) he at least has some top welterweights willing to fight him.

Cruz was robbed NO DOUBT but how was he avoided??? He only came to light in the casamayor fight and the fight hasnt been more than 2 months, Williams has been know now and we have people pulling out of fight with him already.

I see your point, but who is Santa Cruz fighting next? Who is Casamayor fighting next? While Joel got a big fight Katsidis and Santa Cruz isn't even in talks about any fights with any Diaz or Chavez or anyone. Rumors are he isn't getting any fight of signifigance soon. Matchmakers are leary of putting their top guys in with him. He like Williams is tall and rangy and both are huge for their divisions. Williams is at an advantage with his trinket. If the tables were turned and Santa Cruz had a title and Paul didn't, Williams wouldn't get any fight fight.
