What do u choose to believe about Roy Jones JR durability

IMO there are 2 sides to the coin depending on what u choose to believe

1 .Roy never finshed his oponents off for a reason & would rather fight cautiously even though he could finish an oponent at will if he chose to ,Roy never fought the best Competition an avoided some fighters ,now a fan would say it is because Roy was Boxing clever that he would'nt engauge his oponents & that he did'nt fight the best cause they did'nt want a piece of Roy ,the critics would say Roy knew he had a glass Jaw that is why he fought so tentatively against some fighters when he could have put his foot down & got them out of there & that is aslo the reason he picked bums to fight after he established himself

2 .Roy fought at Heavyweight & he fought men at LightHeavyweight that probably walked about at 1/2 stone heavier than the 175 lbs limit ,did Roy ever get hit though ,would Roy have got hit had he fought Better oposition

this is not hating i just want opinion

    Heres what happened:

When Roy Jones started to slow down, the punches caught up. When gloves started to land on "Mr. Un-knockdown-able" they revealed what was probably there all along; a weak chin.

To what extent does one loose his "chin" with age? I doubt Jones, rarely hit in his prime, has really suffered too much deterioration in terms of the ability to take punches. Its a different sort of story for the Gatti's or even the Sugar Ray Robinson's- people who eventually take so many punches that they loose that very ability.

I don't think JR ever had that ability.

I don't believe Roy had a glass chin.

He had a decent chin that allowed him to take punches when he couldn't get out of the way. He was hit in his prime (just not very often because of his reflexes) and his chin held up.
But it's not the kind of a chin like JCC's, Foreman's or Hagler's which allows you to endlessly walk through bombs without getting stunned.

When Roy Jones lost that athletic ability because of the sudden weight loss and increasing age, he started getting hit more and when you get hit by a bomber like Tarver or even Johnson, especially when you put yourself into the positions Roy Jones did (hands down, chin up, laying on the ropes), you are going to get knocked out unless you have a hell of a chin.

Of course there are expections to this like Robinson and Whitaker who took punishment from big punchers even after they lost their athleticism because they were simply that tough and boxed more fundamentally than Jones at their old age.
Now Roy has started to box more fundamentally himself and I doubt he will be knocked out as easily, he has sacrificed some of his workrate for more cautiousness though.

You can't criticize Jones' ability to take body punches, the man can take hundreds of those.

Seriously, Roy was just asking to get knocked out with that stance.
