WBC junior welterweight champion Junior Witter, currently in training camp for his March defense against unbeaten Demetrius Hopkins, is upset that UK-rival Ricky Hatton has once again turned him down. Hatton announced that he would return to the ring on May 24 in his hometown of Manchester. Team Hatton publicly said that Witter is not even a consideration for the May date. [details]

I think there is real comparison, Hatton was an absolute jerk to Mayweather in getting him to fight. Mayweather accepted and wound up shutting his mouth so to speak, Hatton should (attempt to) do likewise to Witter.

Floyd probably orchestrated Hatton's trash talk b4 he even did it. Mayweather was more interested in a low risk payday than worried about someone talking trash.

Hatton should fight Witter for 90/10 or 80/20. If he gives Witter that offer than he would keep Witter from getting an enormous payday and shut his mouth..............maybe.

Once the fight was announced Floyd became his usual jerky self, but before it was signed I was absolutely stunned at some of the things Ricky was saying.

mayweather deserves a good slagging, he is irritating and has said a lot worse things to every boxer he has ever faced, are you really that offended by it

it wasnt all untrue anyway, floyd aint the most entertaining boxer, he punches and runs which doesnt make for a good fight

If i was Ricky i would continue as he is doing and not give Witter the fight. Witter is obviously the more desperate of the two for it to happen but only for the big payday in my opinion.

Hatton would beat him anyway and i don't even think it would be a close contest.

Hatton was definitely the Jerk. He made a terrible decision by calling him out in the fashion he did it in, and Hatton wants no part of Witter because the risk is greater than the reward.
