"I'm actually at 167, 166 right now and I'm eating like crazy," says undefeated world middleweight champion Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik (32-0, 29 KOs), who faces former undisputed world champion Jermain Taylor (27-1-1, 17 KOs) on pay-per-view February 16th in Las Vegas. At the insistance of the Taylor camp, the bout will be fought at a catchweight of 166 pounds, which the larger Pavlik feels will be more to his advantage than Taylor's. "I have a lot of energy and I really think that [the extra six pounds] are going to benefit me," said Pavlik. "The snap on my punch and the bounce in my legs, everything will be there."
For this fight, Taylor has replaced legendary trainer Emanuel Steward with his former amateur coach Ozell Nelson, a move that suits Pavlik's trainer Jack Loew just fine. "The rap on Taylor was he brought all his bad habits from his amateur days," commented Loew. "He gets amateurish in the fights. Ozell Nelson is the one that taught him all that, so I just want to thank Jermain for bringing back the guy who taught him all the bad habits!"
I stole this. Big whoop! Lol.
