B.A.D. = The best boxing telecast ever...

    Holy ****...

The first two shows of Boxing After Dark were in 1996.

The first one: Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Kennedy McKinney
The second one: Arturo Gatti vs. Wilson Rodriguez

Can you imagine two better fights in the opening telecasts of a program?

    Holy ****!

    Which one was better?

P.S. Both of these fights were much better than Holyfield-Tyson I, which got 1996 FOTY. Great pick, Ring Magazine

Hard to pick, but I chose Barrera-McKinney because they were the higher quality fighters.

      Barrera-McKinney easily...

Gatti's lowblows kinda tarnish the Rdoriguez fight for me...evn if i do admire the heart he showed....

yea and its really an easy pick IMO. It was such an amazing fight.

Gatti-Rodriguez is also one of my all time favorite fights to watch. It NEVER gets old. I could watch that fight 100 times a day for the rest of my life and love it ever time.

Barrera-Mckinney just has the special aura around it. I love both of them

Next to Dempsey-Firpo, Holyfield-Tyson is one of the worst FOTY selections by Ring Magazine ever. It was not a good fight. It was an amazing upset with a spectacular finish... but before that it was a dull and somewhat uneventful fight. there so many better fights that year its not even funny.

And on top of that, 90% of it was all Holyfield... so again it shouldnt get FOTY. I could see fights like Patterson-JOhansen and Foreman-Frazier getting FOTY nods despite there onesidedness, but not Holyfield-Tyson 1

McKinney vs Barrera was the best fight BAD has had, it was a great fight to launch the show.

                I liked Barrera-Mckinney better.

I think the Gatti-Robinson fights were on BAD too, as well as Tua-Izon, Tua-Ibeabuchi, and Jefferson-Harris.

                Great BAD fights.

I don't have an official list or anything, but I do think that Robinson-Gatti I might be my favorite fight of all-time.

Absolutely ****ing crazy what went on in that ring.

I just thought I'd make a poll considering these were two of their first few broadcasts... I can't imagine how lucky boxing fans felt to have this new Boxing After Dark telecast which apparantly only showed FOTY candidates.
