Andre Berto: Room to Breathe at Welterweight

By Cliff Rold - With less than four years completed in his professional career, and trying to weave through the thick traffic that makes up 147 lb. expressway, 24-year old Andre Berto (20-0, 17 KO) of Winter Haven, Florida is starting to occupy some prime real estate.

I hope Berto keeps winning. I expect him to get a shot to a bigger name by the end of next year. Who knows? He might be PW's next challenger...

Thats wat HBO is doing. Show the two on the same card and create the buzz for a possible clash in the near future.

that wouldn't be good. pw is too good and too tall for berto at this point in his career. berto needs to go for Margarito, Judah or Cintron if he wants a big name fight for that level of recognition and respect.

              berto

berto is going to be something special if his chin holds hup .. he has a lot of gifts and talent ... only flaw is sometimes he fights his opponents fight ... granted he still wins but hey hey someone might do it better than him .. i see him beating cotto and margarito and clottey ... i see him have problems with boxers not brawlers/pressure fighters

Berto is in a crowded WW division with some damn good champions. I think he should go after P-dub's belt since Cotto will have the other two and I DON'T want to see a semi-green Berto get a lesson from Floyd.

With the WW division being so tough Berto's gonna have a tough time against any of the champs, plus some of the contenders are pretty decent as well. He has the talent to be a champ, but we'll find out if he's for real when he fight a big name.
