I've never been one to say Margarito is a bum in honesty. The only time I've said it was directed at Viva Mexico, Tijuana Tornado, or any other Margarito ally just for a laugh and to get them started.

Margarito's no bum. That said he's not the best fighter in the world either but the man has an amazing workrate (though he is a slow starter) and he can throw punches as well as he can take them. Antonio is no easy win.

Yeah the problem with Floyd fans is they want to trash a potential floyd opponent and label him a bum, then when another fighter "they like" beats "the bum" they want to act as if that fighter is amazing..its annoying.

What I do feel though, is that Williams yet has not accomplished enough to deserve a fight with Cotto. Even though Margo lost, when comparing everything he has achieved to what Williams has achieved, he still has more of a right to fight Cotto. Again, just based on resume. Would I like to see Cotto/Williams, **** yeah. May not be as exciting as Margo/Cotto but I would love to see how Cotto would strategize against William's reach, height and output. But the fact remains that Cotto has earned his right to call out Mayweather. Williams still has a bit to go to call out Cotto.

I agree with this. Though I do like Williams a lot and believe he has the potential to be a star in the division, he needs anothe rhigh profile opponet. Margarito is good, I'd like to see him take somebody else first before a possible Cotto bout. Cotto has Judah and Mosley, Williams has Margarito but he needs a star like Mosley on his record to really make him stand out a bit more.

A Cotto/Margarito match is a match made in heaven if you ask me. Right after Margarito finishes up Kermit Cintron for the second time.

One more high profile opponet and I say Paul can call out whoever he wants. The question is who the hell will that opponet be? It's not exactly like people are chomping at the bit to fight him, well not star fighters anyway. Maybe Mosley/Williams? I'd love to see that one.

Cotto's been fighting good opponents consistantly for 6 years. Williams just stepped up and beat one good fighter. It's obvious who's earned it more.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that all these people on here rip Floyd for not fighting a guy like Cotto but there the same exact people who make an excuse everytime Williams calls Cotto out. What is the difference?

To me its even worst. What makes Cotto so special? I dont mean that in a negative way like he sucks but I mean it in a way that he shouldnt be any kind of Gold Standard. These idiots are taking up for him by saying the Williams fight doesnt make sense because he doesnt have a big name. So. Thats the same **** Floyd says all the time and gets ripped for. He said Margarito didnt have a big name which is totally true since his PPV sales were horrible.

What makes Cotto's name so big? I love it how cats on here try to portray Cotto as this Super Star. He's not. He's not anywhere near Tito. All his PPV's have completely ****** except for the Mosley fight and that was only average and you could say that it only sold because of Mosley. I bet thats why Arum is trying to get him to fight Gomez now because he's a popular guy off the Contender. Then you guys brag like he sells out stuff. Oh yeah, its really hard for a PR to sell out the Garden during the PR parade? Its a joke. Tell him to go fight somewhere else other then NY when its not the PR parade and see what the place looks like.

Then on top of that, what makes him more of a viable opponent for Floyd then Williams? Its not like Cotto has beat a thousand top guys. You got idiots like Manny Steward bragging about him and naming guys that he's beat like Zab, Paulie, & Torres. No one even knew who Torres was when that fight was made and he took it on a short notice. Everyone picked Cotto to win by early KO in domination. It was the same with Paulie. Half the people didnt know him and the other half thought he was a big mouth club fighter who would get decapitated and again they all picked Cotto to win by early KO. Now they try to make it sound like those were super fights that everyone thought would be tough. Zab again was coming off a year long suspension, hadnt won a fight in 2 years and had already just been beat by Floyd & Baldy. The only thing Quintana has on his resume is a win over a green Julio who wasnt that good anyway.

Seriosuly, what makes him deserve the fight more then Williams? Cotto has the good Mosley win but Williams has the good Margarito win and I think that win is probally even better. Everyone on here sweats Margarito but now those same guys arent going to act like the Williams win was bigger then Cotto's? Seriously, its so hypocritical and it makes me mad because its the same people who rip Floyd for saying and doing that stuff. What are you talkin about? Cotto isnt that popular. He's not at all. He's popular inside of boxing but people in the mainstream dont know him at all. Infact, Williams is much closer to Cotto in everything then Cotto is to Floyd. Floyd is a 6 time champ, in 5 divisions, has set the PPV record, and is known by a ton of people. Cotto is nowhere near that. Then I also always say this. What happened to the days of the guys fighting to get to the champ? Pavlik & Miranda were the top 2 contenders but they fought to get to Taylor. Guzman & Soto were the top 2 guys but they fought to clear things out to get to Pac. This is what Williams & Cotto should do. If they fight eachother then we know that one guy stands way above everyone else for the Floyd fight and it will leave no room for anything else. Cotto shoud definatly fight Williams if Floyd doesnt fight him and there is no excuse. You guys are idiots if you rip Floyd for not fighting Cotto but wont rip Cotto for not fighting Williams.
