I can't imagine any two people in boxing that hate Roy Jones more than Tarver and Shaw. Roy trash talked Shaw real bad last summer when he refused to fight on any card promoted by him. -
Either way, any guy that says he didn't want to win a fight because his dad would get all the credit (Jones-Tarver III) can't talk about other fighters being "weak-minded."Comment

The thing is,Mayweather can back it up,hes No.1,all Tarver did was beat Jones, and the **** he comes out with,i remember him saying that Hopkins dont decide if he wants a rematch,he does, because hes the biggest draw in boxing, that the Rocky movie made him a superstar and hes the biggest face in the sport lol **** like that makes me laughComment

I mean...you gotta give Tarver his respect at the end of the day. Not only did he beat Roy Jones, he knocked him the **** out. If anything Tarver should thank Roy for basically making him a household name.
But at the same time, Roy should either fight Tarver one more time or Shut up himself. He's gunnin for the young cats and that might be the beginning of his ultimate demise as a boxer in the sport.Comment

All told, I'm not sure Shaw really gave a **** - he still got his cut off of Hanshaw's purse at the end of the night, and didn't have to invest a dime into the show, or even attend for that matter (which, to my knowledge, he didn't).
Anyway, not that I'm a Tarver fan, but I don't blame him shooting back at Roy. Roy was outta line talking that ****, especially considering the cowardly manner in which he fought their rubber match.Comment

Not sure that's completely accurate. Roy was apprehensive of fighting Hanshaw on a card promoted by Shaw, only because Shaw was Hanshaw's promoter. Honestly, Roy made a big deal out of nothing, attempted to make Hanshaw out to be some beast (and if I'm not mistaken, that's the exact word he used), and basically just wanted complete control of the fight, which he eventually got.

Roy said he wouldn't fight on a card promoted by Shaw. This is the same guy who fought Trinidad and Ruiz on cards promoted by Don King. You better believe that Shaw was pissed because Showtime had set a TV date for this. Despite his promoters cut, it embarrassed Shaw and cost him money.Comment

Gary Shaw was at the fight, but it didnt really matter--he's crap anyways. Hanshaw put in some work, but wasnt ready for that kind of challenge. Jones gave away the last fight with Tarver and anyone who knows boxing should agree with that. He connected well on Tarver every time he let his hands go. He was just too scarred mentally to do it enough to get the decision. So in reality, he was the one who was "weaker minded" in their last fight. So, until he settles that score-Roy should just stay silent when it comes to Tarver & Glenn Johnson for that matter. Im the biggest Rjj fan, and do believe that if he gets hungry again -- he could beat Johnson and Tarver both. I seriously doubt that they would mind getting a big payday to have a shot to prove that their wins over Roy were Flukes.Comment
