Ricky Hatton Applies For Promoters License

Light Welterweight Champion Ricky “Hitman” Hatton has applied for a promoters license to the Britain Boxing Board of Control. Hatton has not publicly discussed any promotional dates or fighters who will battle under his banner but rest assure, England’s favorite fighter will have significant influence on boxing in the UK and throughout the world. Coming off a December loss to Floyd Mayweather, Hatton has yet to name a comeback opponent but it appears the “Hitman” will enter the ring on May 24th, most likely in Manchester.

Thats quite a promising thing for the future. Aslong as he knows what hes doing. By the sounds of how much he made in the mayweather fight, he does know what hes doing.

Boxing is becoming a circus act. And Hatton needs to concentrate on his fighting, he's yet to beat a world-class figher in his prime.

Agreed he needs Paulie then he needs to swallow his pride and fight Witter. His personality will help as a promoter, but he needs to make the best use of his boxing skills while he still have them - you can promote fights at seventy, but you can't compete in them much above 40 (unless you are a freak of nature like Hopkins)
