Does Clottey have a problem now?

Interviewer: Kermit Cintron made it clear that he wants to unify titles with Cotto on April 26.

Where is the problem now Bob? Isn't Cintron/Margarito being made for Cintron IBF strap? Clottey doesn't have a problem with this? This is the BS that Bob constantly pulls. No wonder no one ever keeps him as his promoter and he is hurting Cotto by putting him in with Gomez. So I wonder who is really the protected fighter?

well if cintron beats margarito if i were him i would face clottey in the summer and then IF he comes victorious and cotto if victorious they'll face in a showdown in november or december.

and then the showdown again they have to be victorious in order to make this happen.

I don't think he'll get a big fight again. He had his chance against Marg but it didn't work out. I thought Cotto would fight him. Then there was talks of Judah. We thought for sure with Cintron but it looks like he's the odd man out. He should push for a Berto fight or maybe move up to 154 and try to fight Spinks or Forrest.

Clottey is the mandatory IBF contender. One way or the other, he'll be in a IBF welterweight title fight this year. If the winner of Cintron-Margarito doesn't fight him he'll get a chance to fight for the vacant title when that person fights for Cotto's WBA title.

I don't have a problem with Cintron fighting Margarito. It's the hypocrisy of Bob Arum. In that interview, he makes it seem like he is looking after Clottey's best interest. When to me it looks like he is trying to protect Cotto.

Well if Cintron wins he gets stripped. Arum promotes both Clottey and Margarito, I'm pretty sure he could settle that situation himself. Clottey deserves a chance though either way, he's racked up three solid wins. He might be forced to chase Paule Williams.

This just show the hypocrisy of Bob Arum, He knows what his doing and he really try to lead on some dumb fans especially on this forum, He never wanted cotto to fight Margarito,Cintron or Mayweather after the Mosley fight, he alway wanted a tune up and he had Gomez's name since the Mosley fight...All this excuse about Mayweather doesnt want to fight Cotto look like BS now, He could have made Cotto/Cintron but he made all kind of excuse using Clottey's name to avoid the Cintron fight, Then all of a sudden he turns around and made the Margarito/Cintron fight..So what happen to i cant make the Cotto/Cintron fight because of "My loyalty to Clottey"?

He should have come out and just say he wanted Cotto to have a tune up because going up against the big boys again...Instead of lying.

Why don't Williams fight Clottey? that would be a very goodmatch up. Everyone respects Williams and Clottey too after his wicked perfromacne with Margarito.

this fight would have been a lot better than Willims vs. Quintana.
