it was supposed to be against graves, but one writer said that the alleged round when pep didn't throw a punch was actually a good action-packed round with lots of punches thrown by both guys.

it is a Myth that Just because Barrera beat Hamed that every other top Featherweight would have beaten him just because Barrera had his number

they would have had to get past the 3/4 round for a start which was hard for any Featherweight when Hamed hit as hard as he did in his prime

              Henry Cooper vs Muhammad Ali.

The Willie Pep thing was proven to be false.

Hagler vs Leonard is all about how you score fights. Hagler was the champion, brought the fight to Leonard and fought for 3 minutes every round. There should've been a rematch.

Two myths = Mike Tyson was unbeatable and Mike Tyson only beat nobodies in the 80's.

              Tyson did beat solid opposition:
              Trevor Berbick (WBC champion),
Bonecrusher Smith (coming off a big win over Tim Witherspoon, WBA champion),
Pinklon Thomas (avoided contender in the early 80's),
              Tony Tucker (35-0, IBF champion),
Larry Holmes (old but still a legend),
Tony Tubbs (fat but very fast, former champion),
Michael Spinks (beat Larry Holmes and Gerry Cooney as a HW, linear champion),
              Frank Bruno (32 wins, 31 KO's) and
              Carl Williams (top contender).

Well Hagler was pretty much all of that at that point of his career.

                  HBO document about the fight.

It doesn't say so anywhere but many think the champion should be given the benefit of the doubt and the challenger should take away his belt.

Like I said, it's all about how you score fights. It's a fact that people score fights differently.

Some people also think ring generalship is total bulls*** and ring generalship was one of the major reasons Leonard won that fight. He made Hagler fight his fight and messed with Hagler mentally.
