Roy Jones: "Woods Beats Weak Minded Tarver"

I understand but Roy has to understand the win says little about him as a contender now a days and he seems to think it makes him P4P again....He's sadly mistaken and will be shown that if he chooses to step in the ring with one of these young bucks like Dawson or Pavlik or even these old bucks that are simply better than him at this point like Calzaghe or Tarver. I wish he'd ask for a rematch with Glen Johnson......He wins that fight and I'll give him a little credit.

i agree with you i wish jones would have gone after someone better than tito. or let tito have a fight or two at LHW to see how he does. but the thing is roy wasnt getting anyone coming to him like it used to be. so now he has to play the guy who has to call people out. tarver called him out once he went HW jones thought it would be easy to go back down and he was mistaken. but now he has to be the guy that calls people out and talk some **** on other fighters to get that big fight. you have to give to him that when the calz hops debate roy came out and said that he would go to whales and fight calz if he cant get anything done with hops. he said it again after the tito fight. he has to be the man that calls out the fighters wheather anyone likes it or not. everyone is used to hearing people say they want roy and they can beat roy. now roy has to come out and say he can beat calz hops tarver johnson dawson lol de la hoya lol. like someone on this post said you cant blame him no matter what happens all he is doing is hyping up his next fight and you cant blame him for that.

I know that but for some reason it pisses me off when fighters do that knowing they are full of ****. I have to think Roy is really dellusional because I know he doesn't need the money or anything. I think he is more ego damaged and is starting to believe he might be able to make another run at the top.....maybe he can, I seriously doubt it but hey ya never know. I do know beating Tito under those circumstances does not give him a case.

I haven't seen it but I've read the same thing. Poor Johnson has been robbed many times from what I understand.

I have seen them all which one are you on about ?? the 3rd fight i thought Woods pulled it out by winning the last few rounds.

Jones shouldnt fight Woods even if he does win but at least its someone close to his size.

I actually think Roy beat himself more in the 3rd fight, Jones had Tarver gone in the middle rounds and Jones looked in good condition, but yet Jones wouldn't pull the trigger, and its not like Tarver was doing anything great himself, he was only throwing a weak jab and winning the rounds by landing few more extra punches. And ss a Jones fan its really frustrating to see that fight because Jones could have took him but he was too gun shy.

You beat a blown up retired Trinidad and now all of a sudden you're the man again?......don't forget that Weak minded Tarver KOed your ***** ass......and then nearly KOed you again en route to a clear easy decision win over you. And to this day would beat your ass again if you ever stepped back into the ring with him. Please Roy retire or fight someone with a pulse so they can retire you for us.The talking is for the birds.

In fact if i was Jones i would try and take Tarver now, Jones did look way more offensive in his fight with Tito and if he can bring that sort of offensive skills into the Tarver fight he would take Tarver no question in my mind.

No question Tarver has looked bad. but I think Roy after being hit with a punch would begin to remember what happened to him at Tarvers hands and become timid again. The 3rd fight Jones was scared stiff....especially after Tarver had him hurt badly later in the fight.
