I just read on a Ukrainian boxing website that Oner, Juan Carlos Gomez promoter, has perhaps set this up as a fake story. They are doubtful whether Virchis has asked for the eight extra weeks.

Oleg Hug is employed by Oner and Arena Box-Promotions. Virchis is promoted by one of their rivals, Universum.

It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds this week. Universum should be making a statement in the next couple of days.

If this report is true, then I have lost all respect for Virchis. Both he and Gomez are being crybabies. They've had since November to prepare for this fight.

But I just read on ESB that the author of this press release, Oleg Hug, works for Arena Box-Promotions as matchmaker! That's the company that promotes JC Gomez. It all seems rather confusing, but I'll wait and see what Universum has to say about it.
